Luton coming up
|
Luton fucking Town are back up. I couldn't give a fuck about many teams outside West Ham but Luton hold a special place for dislike. Haven't been to Luton since Maggie Thatcher proudly and successfully lead a great nation (unlike the cess pit it is now, thankfully viewed from wonderful Oz)
The place was a dump then so I doubt it has improved an ounce, the club are a tedious, mediocre nonentity. The Premiership should ban garbage like this from entering, I would immediately relegate (and stop promotion) Bournemouth Brentford Brighton Palace Leicester Fulham
Promote Sunderland Sheff Weds West Brom Stoke Ipswich Bristol City (Good to have 1 of the Bristol sides in)
Get rid of the dross

Should be forced to demolish that shithole of a ground and build a new one elsewhere as a minimum requirement to play in the Premiership

So you won’t let Leicester in.? A team who gave the Premiership its greatest boost among viewership worldwide. OK.
Here’s a stat too get all moist over. Between 84-94. We played Luton FUCKING Town 21 times. Our record in that time was.
P21. W4 D9 L8.

What Luton have done is incredible.
But they will NEVER be forgiven for the government cock-sucking away fan ban and the shittiest plastic pitch imaginable. So they can burn in football hell regardless.
I still take great pride from the fact that I bounced through their stupid ban several times. It wasn't difficult, as many did it (including others on here).
Fuck Luton.

67 - Well at least Richard Keys will be gutted :-)
My memory is terrible, I don't even remember that away fans were banned there.

Manuel.
The ban game in after those rascals from over the river smashed Lutons ground up at a night game. To be honedt though, something had to be done, the game was in the fucking gutter mate and some of the away days were grim. Of course, we didnt know this at the time as we were younger and it was all we knew.

Left us having played 1 game.
Joined non league Luton and been in the side since, all the way to premier league.
Impressive.

"The Premiership should ban garbage like this from entering"...
Yeah - let's have nothing to do with change and evolution, and how crap teams got better over time.
Let's restrict entry to the premiership based on nothing other than who was in the top division when you first realised that your little winkie was not just for pissing out of.

Ian Smith, erstwhile prime minister of Rhodesia, supported Luton for some bizarre reason. Saw him at UP at one of our wretched home defeats to Luton in the late 70s.

"Get rid of the dross"
By relegating well established premier league teams (one that's won it and another that's probably currently the best run team in the league)
And replacing with a load of northern teams that can't get up on their own merit?

I lived in Hemel Hempstead in 1970s between Watford and Luton. The rivalry between those two was fierce and of course, broke out into open warfare between the fans whenever they competed.
Would have interesting if Watford were in the PL too….

Weren’t they also the first club to introduce membership cards as a pre-requirement for buying tickets?
